This week kicked off with sorting through juvenile threespined sticklebacks to find a Chinook salmon in the mix. We haven't seen many salmon recently but hope that we may see a few more in the coming weeks. One fish that is prevalent right now are the northern anchovies. This school went by us at Irvines Landing and then we met them again in Whiskey Slough. Have you seen them?

We are happy to report that no European Green Crabs (EGC) were caught in the traps at Wilson Creek. We continued with our EGC eDNA monitoring at the PODS dock.

We are still seeing a few Dungeness in the light trap. We have had very interesting by catch such as quilfish, cabezon and even a tiger rockfish. You can check out what kinds of creatures are found in the light trap on Hakai's Sentinels of Change Light Trap Monitoring page on iNaturalist.

We wrapped up the week with a cleanup of the Iris and Billy Griffith Center. We had volunteers join us to help us get ready for youth summer camps. There are still spaces available for our camps. Registration is open on our website.
