Operations & Governance

Purpose
The Operations & Governance Committee ensures the Loon Foundation runs efficiently, responsibly, and in alignment with its mission. It oversees internal systems, policies, and resources to support effective program delivery, and ensures proper governance through developing handbooks, policies, and contracts. The committee also leads Board recruitment and selection.

Finance

Purpose
To maintain oversight of the Foundation’s financial status and operations and provide financial expertise.

PODS Construction

Purpose
To advise and support the development and construction process for the Pacific Ocean Discovery Station (PODS).

Fundraising

Purpose
The Fundraising Committee develops and advances strategies to generate sustainable financial support for the Foundation’s mission and to help close the PODS funding gap. It leads donor engagement, fundraising initiatives, and partnerships to ensure long-term impact.

Education

Purpose
The Education Committee is dedicated to sparking youth connection to nature by developing and sustaining accessible, impactful environmental education programs that inspire youth to become dedicated stewards of local ecosystems. Our Education Committee is committed to creating land-based, immersive opportunities for children and elevating the voices of traditional Indigenous Knowledge Keepers.
